Wild Rye Billie Stash Bibs Review
Over my years of mountain, road, and gravel biking, I’ve become a big fan of bib-style shorts. Being tall (5’11”) it took be awhile to find ones that actually fit comfortably, but now I usually wear bibs for any ride that’s more than 45 minutes or so.
Wild Rye offered to send me the Billie Stash Bib to check out, and I happily accepted. Wild Rye is a women founded, women-specific company that makes high quality gear.

I’ve had the Billie Stash Bib for about a month now, and worn them for quite a few rides at this point. First off, I love them. They quickly became not only my favorite bibs, but my favorite chamois. I reach for them before any of my others, and have done laundry specifically so I can wear them. Wild Rye says:

My Review:
I especially love the main fabric - you can immediately tell it’s high quality. The stretch fabric in the legs, stomach, and hip area is well fitting and compressive without being restricting, and the mesh upper part lets is breathable. The inseam is 9” which is long enough to stay in place (helped by silicon dots in the leg band) but not too long.
The bibs have details that show they were designed by cyclists who know what features matter. The waist is high enough that it doesn’t cut into your stomach, there are two stash pockets in the legs, and the chamois is endurance-style, so it has comfortable coverage without being too high profile - so no feeling of wearing a diaper. Also, the purple color and subtle topo pattern on the straps are so cute!
I’ve worn the Billie Stash Bib for several types of riding - XC mountain biking, road/gravel, and a tech-ier mtb ride. I wore them on their own (roadie style) and with baggies over. On the xc ride and gravel/road ride, I had my phone in my pocket with no over shorts, and it stayed solidly in place, even on some bumpy, rocky descents on the gravel bike. On one ride, I got hot enough to ditch a layer, and my windbreaker fit perfectly in the other pocket. For the mountain bike ride, I wore baggies over the top, and even with an extra layer on a hot day, I stayed pretty cool.
At the end of my longest rides, the fabric hadn’t stretched out, and I didn’t have any chafing. I even wore the Billie Stash Bib for a dip in the Truckee River (maybe the most important test!) and they still felt great!
Sizing
The Billie Stash Bib have a wide range of sizes - 0 to 18 with waist sizes ranging from 25” - 54” (love a size inclusive brand!).
I’m 5’11”, weigh ~155 pounds, and have a 31” waist. With my height, I have often struggled with bibs being either too short in the torso or too baggy elsewhere, so I reached out to the Wild Rye team for sizing help. They recommended that I get the size 10, which ended up being perfect for me. Consider sizing up if you’re tall.
